Inside the Tunnel

Tunnel Vision

I recently heard it being described as being in a "Tunnel" and being unable to see options other than suicide. Honestly, that description is very accurate. Sometimes we get trapped in the deepest, darkest, most broken part of our mind. The only exit available is suicide.

I'm gonna refer to it as "Being inside the Tunnel". If someone is inside the tunnel, they aren't thinking logically. Their thinking has become distorted and hyper focused on the topics that cause them stress, anxiety, or pain. They are unable to see past that to see any hope for the future or options other than suicide.

They may be able to function through daily tasks but they lack the ability to exit the "Tunnel" because they don't see another option other than suicide.

The mission at Hear Their Silence! is to pay attention and notice if you can when someone is in that "Tunnel". Calmly offer them a door to exit the "Tunnel". Offer a glimmer of hope that someone cares, that things can change, and that they matter. If you stronly feel that someone is in the "Tunnel" but you're not able to help them find a safe exit there is still help.

The two organizations that I have decided to make donations to are : 988 Lifeline and Project Semicolon. If you know someone in the "Tunnel" and you are unable to effectively help them then contact one of the organizations above. They can help guide you through how to help someone.

Thank you for visiting this site. Buy a shirt, donate to one of the organizations above. If we can save 1 person, then Every 1 Matters.
